BAS Annual Open Exhibition - Question please
Hi everyone,
Just curious....I would love to enter 3 of my paintings for the upcoming BAS annual Open Exhibition in Beckenham but unfortunately the entry form says, poor framing will be rejected.
My artwork is painted on stretched canvas over a chunky box frame which suits the modern nature of my art. (The edges of the painted canvas continue around the wooden box frame and therefore is actually part of the painting.)
I feel a frame would detract from the artwork itself and therefore I have never felt the need to frame my work. Often buyers prefer to choose their own frame to suit their own tastes.
So my question is: May I still take part if my paintings do not require a frame at all to be hung up?
Many thanks to anyone who can help!!
Cyndi

Box canvases OK
Box canvases without frames are accepted - I speak as one who has exhibited, rather than the selection committee.
